Lockwood Beck Reservoir is located in North Yorkshire near to Guisborough. It’s a great spot for a quick walk or a day out. 

How to Get There:

To get there, head down the A171 from Guisborough. It’s probably easiest to travel to via Car however the X94 bus heads to it from Middlesbrough and Guisborough.

Parking at Lockwood Beck Reservoir:

At the reservoir there is lots of parking. It’s best to be prepared with boots / a car that can handle the muddy roads as it’s not a paved car park.

Picnic Area:

There’s a nice picnic area at the start of the walk with benches overlooking the reservoir. It’s a great spot for a break either before or after the walk.

Other things to see at Lockwood Beck Reservoir:

It’s a popular spot for bird watchers and some common sightings include Siskin, Chaffinch  and the Great Spotted Woodpecker.

The Walk

There’s a beautiful walk around the reservoir that meanders through the woodland and alongside the reservoir. It’s best to wear boots and be prepared for muddy ground particularly if it has been raining. It’s a great spot for dog walkers though and offers a great walking route.
